NEWARK, DE -- Despite being outshot 15-4, the 17th ranked Northeastern field hockey team defeated 20th ranked Delaware 2-1 on Sunday in Newark.
With the win NU improves to 7-1 and 3-0 in the conference while Delaware falls to 6-3 and 2-2 in the conference.
Northeastern jumped on the board with 17:06 remaining in the first half, when sophomore Sara Webber netted a rebound off the post. In the second half, junior Fior Arrindell scored the Huskies, second goal off a penalty corner with 23:37 remaining in the game.
The Blue Hens did manage to get on the board with 5:29 left in the game, as junior Kim Wagaman scored off a pass from senior Juli Byrd.
Northeastern has now won five in a row. The Huskies next play on Wednesday at home versus Brown.
