Lindsay Wagner led Northeastern with 21 kills and Erin Spangler added 15, as the Huskies downed host Rhode Island, 3-1 (26-30, 32-30, 30-23, 30-25) on Saturday at the Rhode Island Classic.
Wagner earned All-Tournament honors after recording 46 kills over three matches (11 games). Northeastern improved to 4-5, while Rhode Island dropped to 1-8.
The Huskies started slow, hitting .194 in the first game, which they lost 30-26. The team started to heat up during the second game, as NU hit .212 and outlasted the Rams for a 32-30 win. The Huskies hit on all cylinders the final two games, recording hitting percentages of .355 and .370, respectively.
Kristin Ursillo had 57 assists for the Huskies, while Rebecca Holland had 11 kills and Larissa Adomat added nine.
