Northeastern lost to Jacksonville 3-1, finishing the Valparaiso Invitational 0-3.
Jacksonville hit a blistering .326 in game one, but the Huskies hung tough. The game was tied at 13 and then NU trailed just 15-14, but the Dolphins used a 5-1 run to open a 20-15 edge. NU got no closer than four the rest of the game as Jacksonville went up 1-0 with a 30-22 win.
The Huskies took a 15-9 lead in game two and led most of the way, including 24-22. But, the Dolphins scored four straight points to stake a 26-24 lead and held on for a 30-27 victory.
Jacksonville hit just .064 in game three as the Huskies opened a 15-8 advantage and never looked back. NU led by as much as 10 (24-14) in the 30-22 win. The Huskies couldn't keep the momentum going, though, as they hit .000 (11 kills, 11 errors) in the fourth game. Jacksonville scored the first three points of the game and never trailed in closing out the match with a 30-24 win.
Freshman Larissa Adomat continued her great start for the Huskies, hitting .448 with 14 kills and just one error in 29 total attacks. Erin Spangler also played well, registering 12 kills with a hitting percentage of .259.
