ORLANDO, FL - The Northeastern volleyball team was defeated 3-2 by Stephen F. Austin on Saturday afternoon in its second match of the day as part of the 2002 Central Florida Challenge.
Despite winning the first two games 30-20 and 30-27, Northeastern dropped three consecutive games 31-29, 30-25 and 15-8 to lose the match.
In the loss, freshman Larissa Adomat played a brilliant match as she tallied 22 kills on 35 attacks with just two errors for a .571 hitting percentage. Senior Lindsay Wagner recorded her second straight double-double with 15 kills and 11 digs, while "libero" Kelly Cognac continued to flourish in her new position as she notched a match-high 23 digs.
After winning their first three matches of the 2002 season, the Huskies have now dropped three straight to even their record to 3-3. Next up for NU is the URI Volleyball Classic on Sept. 13-14.
