Northeastern won its eleventh straight match by defeating Binghamton Friday night 3-0 (30-18, 30-26, 30-28) at Solomon Court. The Huskies improved their overall record to 16-6 and remain undefeated in the America East at 4-0.
The Huskies were led by junior Karrin Moore who recorded 16 kills and eight digs and had a hitting percentage of .382. Northeastern also saw a strong performance from senior Briana Furch who recorded 12 kills with a .360 hitting percentage. NU's offense was paced by senior setter Kristin Ursillow who finished with 43 assists on the night.
Northeastern came out strong in the first game defeating the Bear Cats 30-18 and never looked back. Rebecca Holland led the charge in game one with four kills and three digs.
Moore set the tone in game two finishing with eight kills and five digs. Ursillo chipped in with 15 assists and three kills.
Game three was the closest of the match with Binghamton rallying to cut the score to 29-28. Northeastern was able to pull off the victory with a kill from Moore.
The Huskies next action is Saturday night when they square off against America East rival UMBC, match time is 7 p.m. at Solomon Court.
