In a highly competitive and back-and-forth match, the volleyball team outlasted Delaware on Sunday afternoon at Solomon Court, 3-2 (30-23, 21-30, 31-29, 25-30, 15-13). The win is Northeastern's seventh in nine games, and improves the Huskies' record to 5-2 in the CAA, and 13-11 overall. Lauren DeTurk led all Huskies with 19 kills, while Britney Brown had a triple-double with 10 kills, 30 assists, and 13 digs. Delaware had been in a tie for first place in the CAA before the match. Northeastern returns to the court next Saturday against Hofstra in Hempstead, N.Y.

Northeastern hit .250 as a team in the first game as the Huskies took the game 30-23. Brown and DeTurk each had five kills in this game.

After dropping game two, Northeastern came back strong in game three. With the Huskies holding a 25-20 lead, Delaware stormed back, scoring six of the game's next seven points to tie the score at 26-26. The Huskies trailed 28-29, but scored the game's final three points on a kill by Sarah Stein and two Delaware errors to take the game.

In game four, the score was tied at 20 before Delaware pulled away late, scoring 10 of the game's final 15 points to secure the game 25-30, sending the match to a decisive fifth game.

In the finale, Northeastern led 12-11 before a kill by Caitlin Tittl gave the home side a two point edge. After a Delaware point, two kills by DeTurk gave Northeastern the game.

The Huskies used a balanced attack in game five, as Tittl and Brianna Seitz each had three kills, DeTurk and Kira Batura had two, and three other players had one.

Overall, Jessica Tkachuk led all Huskies with 34 assists, while Leah Neubeck paced the Husky defense with 39 digs.
