The Northeastern women's volleyball team earned a bid to the four-team CAA Tournament with a 3-2 win at George Mason on Saturday night. The Huskies recovered from an 0-2 deficit to overcome the Patriots in both squad's regular season finales. Northeastern concludes the regular season with an 18-10 record and a 9-5 mark in the CAA.
The Huskies were led by senior
Britney Brown, who registered her fifth triple-double of the season with 24 assists, 18 kills and 13 digs. Freshman
Janelle Tucker also paced the Huskies with a double-double, notching 17 kills and a career-high 24 digs.
The Huskies found themselves in a hole after the first two sets, as George Mason recorded 26-24 and 25-20 victories. The third set was a hard-fought affair before the Huskies ultimately claimed a 26-24 victory to extend the match.
In set number four, the Huskies began with a 4-0 run and never looked back, as they put the Patriots away, 25-19, to force a fifth set.
With their postseason hopes on the line, Northeastern began the fifth set with three-straight points behind the serving of freshman
Ina Kamenova. The Patriots were never able to pull within three points of the Huskies, as Northeastern prevailed to take a 15-11 victory and win the match.
Redshirt freshman
Nichole Kurz was effective for the Huskies, tallying 12 kills with a .440 hitting percentage, while being an effective defensive presence with five total blocks. Senior libero Jessica LaScola was also a solid defender, registering a team-high 25 digs.
Kamenova notched a double-double with a team-high 31 assists to go with 16 digs.

Caitlin Tittl and sophomore
Nicole Bishop also contributed to the Huskies' offense, tallying seven kills and five kills, respectively.
Northeastern returns to the CAA tournament for the fourth time in the past five seasons, after just missing out in 2009. The Huskies secured the No. 3 seed and will face No. 2 seed James Madison on Saturday, Nov. 20 at the University of Delaware at 5 p.m. No. 1 seed Delaware will battle No. 4 seed VCU at 7:30 p.m. The winners of both matches will face off in the championship game on Sunday at 5 p.m.
