CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Paced by two goals and an assist from junior forward
Carolyn Malloy, the Northeastern Huskies trounced the Harvard Crimson, 4-0, at Harvard's Jordan Field on Wednesday night. Northeastern improved to 4-4 while Harvard dropped to 2-5 on the season.
The Huskies got off to a blazing start, registering the first eight shots of the contest, six of them on goal. Junior midfielder
Kaela Barker put Northeastern on the board in the 13th minute when she converted a penalty corner for the 1-0 lead. Malloy and senior back
Anne-Rieke Stuhlmann tallied assists on Barker's fourth goal of the season.
Ten minutes later, Northeastern added its second goal when Malloy took a feed from freshman forward
Lindsay Bennett and buried it for the 2-0 advantage. Malloy wasn't finished, as she added another goal at the 25:47 mark to make it 3-0.
Meg Sweeney added the assist on Malloy's fourth goal of the season.
The Huskies outshot the Crimson, 11-1, in the first half, with six of those shots on goal. The final shot total was 19-5 in favor of Northeastern.
The Huskies wrote a similar script in the second half, consistently putting pressure on Harvard and putting shots towards goal.
Crystal Poland, third in the CAA in shots per game, led the team with eight shots. She found the back of the net at the 52:26 mark for her fifth marker of the season. Bennett earned her second assist of the game on the goal.

Lizzie Priest had a light workload, forced to make only two saves in the contest to earn her second shutout of the season.
