The No. 14/10 Northeastern field hockey team escaped with a 2-1 victory at Drexel thanks to a last-minute goal from junior
Crystal Poland with 39 seconds left in regulation to elevate the Huskies to their eight-consecutive triumph.

Annie Clayman to help Northeastern keep its winning streak alive after the Huskies faced a 1-0 deficit with just about five minutes remaining in Philadelphia.
Northeastern dominated the contest from the start and outshot the Dragons, 17-7, including an 8-3 advantage in the first half. Junior
Lizzie Priest made two saves on the evening while Drexel's Kim Chiarelli turned away 8-of-10 shots on target.
The Huskies peppered Drexel's zone from the first whistle but it was Meghan Plank who put the Dragons on the board at 27:41 of the first half. Margaux Lourtie set Plank up on the scoring play.
The Dragons sat on their lead to close out the first half and rode it into the latter parts of the second half before Clayman found the back of the cage at 64:23. Junior
Nicky Graham set her teammate up with the tally to knot the game, 1-1, after Drexel called for a timeout at 63:15.
Northeastern maintained its momentum as Graham registered a pair of shots on net eventually giving way to a penalty corner for veteran
Carolyn Malloy at 69:06.
With the ball in Drexel territory, Poland provided the heroics by chipping the ball in with the set-up from Graham at 69:21 to seal the 2-1 victory.
The Huskies closes out the regular season with a noon tilt at Towson on Sunday, Oct. 30. Northeastern is primed to make a run in the 2011 CAA Field Hockey Tournament starting on Thursday, Nov. 3.
