Georgia State would get within one point at 11-10, 12-11 and 13-12, but NU would not relinquish the lead the rest of the set, winning 25-22.

In the second set, Northeastern jumped out to an early 10-5 lead. A GSU timeout was unable to slow the Huskies, who pushed the lead to ten at 18-8 on a Gibeau kill. The Panthers went on a 10-5 run to cut the deficit to five, at 23-18, but NU took the next two points on a GSU error and a Kamenova service ace to win the set 25-18.
