Huskies round out regular season this weekend

The team will honor its five seniors on Senior Day Sunday

BOSTON – The Northeastern field hockey team will round out its regular season this weekend with a pair of CAA games at No. 9 Delaware and against Towson.
 
The Huskies will begin the weekend against their first top-10 team of the season when they take on No. 9 Delaware on the road Friday night at 7 p.m.
 
Northeastern will round out its regular season on Sunday against Towson at 2 p.m. at Dedham Field. Prior to the game, the Huskies will honor its five members of the senior class.  
 
Make sure to come out early and bring your Northeastern Field Hockey tumbler for free coffee and hot chocolate at the game.
 
LAST TIME OUT...
• The Huskies played in just one game last weekend when they hosted No. 16 Wake Forest in their final non-conference game of the season
• Neither team was able to score in the first half, but Wake jumped on top midway through the second
• With just 20 seconds left in regulation, Natalie Stewart netted the equalizer sending the game to OT but the Huskies ultimately fell 2-1
 
NORTHEASTERN VS.
 
DELAWARE
• Delaware enters its game with the Huskies on an 11-game win streak not having lost a match since Sept. 16
• The Blue Hens are led by Greta Nauck who has 21 goals and 8 assists for 50 points this season
• In goal, Emmeline Oltmans made 51 saves for a 2.08 GAA in 1,000 mins. in goal
• Delaware and Northeastern have faced off 26 times in the past with the Huskies holding on to a 17-9 series lead
• The two teams met for the first time in the 1991 season, a 4-1 victory for the Huskies
• In CAA play, Northeastern holds a 7-5 record over the Blue Hens, though Delaware has won the last four meetings
 
TOWSON
• Towson is 2-15 entering the final weekend of play and has not won a game since Sept. 18
• Towson has scored just nine goals on the season led by Lexi Butler (3g) while Emilee Woodall has seen the majoriy of time in goal with 51 saves and a 5.35 GAA
• Towson and Northeastern have met 19 times in the past with the Huskies owning a 16-3 series lead
• The Huskies are currently on a four-game win streak over the Tigers with the last loss coming in the 2011 season
• Last season, Northeastern tallied six goals against the Tigers, a season high for the Huskies
 
NORTHEASTERN'S SENIOR CLASS
 
ALYSSA CARLSON
• A native of Watertown, Mass. and fixture on defense over the last four years
• Over the course of her career she has made seven defensive saves, including three this season, which ranks second in the CAA
• Though she has just one assist to her credit, tallied in her freshman campaign, she is always looked upon to begin the plays on the strongside in the backfield setting up her teammates for success
• She will graduate from Northeastern with a degree in biochemistry
 
BECKY GARNER
• A native of Somerset, England
• Since setting foot on campus she has played and started in every single game for the Huskies tallying more than 5,000 minutes in goal
• Over the course of her career she has made 422 saves, which ranks third all-time on the Northeastern career saves list
• A CAA All-Rookie and All-CAA First Team honoree, she has saved nearly three quarters of the shots she has faced over her career
• She is set to graduate with a degree in communications studies
 
NATALIE STEWART
• Hails from the west coast and since coming to Northeastern from Vancouver four years ago, she made an immediate influence on the pitch
• She has been honored on the All-CAA First team as well as the NFHCA All-Northeastern Region First (2015) and Second (2013, 2014) teams in each of her first three seasons at Northeastern
• With 20 goals, including eight game-winners, and 26 assists to her credit, this senior has made a difference on the offensive front
• She will graduate with a degree in behavioral neuroscience
 
JESSICA UNGER
• Comes to Northeastern from Macungie, Pennsylvania
• Has the distinction of being one of the toughest players to ever put on a Northeastern uniform
• Though her defense has always been solid, this season she has added to her offensive totals with four goals and two assists to her credit
• A CAA All-Rookie and All-CAA Second Team honoree
• She will graduate with a degree in International Affairs
 
HANNAH WEIN
• Hails from Perryville, Md.
• Has played in 71 games on defense tallying nearly 2,500 minutes of action in the last two years alone
• One of the stingiest players on the Husky backline she has forced numerous turnovers guarding the middle part of the field and turned them into offensive attacks
• Over the course of her career she has stepped in and made four defensive saves including a pair this season in clutch situations
• She will graduate with a degree in psychology with a minor in criminal justice
