PHILADELPHIA – In the right place at right time, Khesanio Hall rocketed the game-winning goal for the Northeastern men's soccer team during the first minute of double overtime on Friday night as the Huskies stormed the field as 1-0 victors against Saint Joseph's.

NU entered the final 10 minutes of the match with a commanding, 23-8 shot advantage while sporting an 8-2 edge in shots on goal. Khori Bennett accounted for a third of the Huskies' shots on goal, placing three of his six attempts on net. Hall had registered four shots without directing one on goal before his fifth attempt sailed beyond the reach of the Hawks' goalkeeper, Greg O'Connell.

The Huskies dictated possession for the majority of the evening, winning 16 corners along the end line.

Gaku Lange made his second consecutive start for Northeastern, heading a shot on goal early during the 20th minute. Dan Korman, Kevin Carvalho, Brendan Massie, and Jonas Taenzer each recorded shots on goal as reserves, with Taenzer and Massie generating the Huskies' best scoring chances of the match prior to Hall's goal.

GOAL RECAPS

- Northeastern (101st minute): A quarter of a minute into double overtime, Saint Joseph's Sam Irvin was carded off for a challenge, awarding Northeastern a free kick roughly 25 yards out on the right side. Upon the ball entering the box, Jack Reynolds fed a left-to-right pass from the top of the 18-yard box to Khesanio Hall, who buried the one-timer towards the left of the Hawks' goalkeeper, Greg O'Connell.

NOTEWORTHY

- Chris Gbandi celebrated the first victory of his head-coaching career (became the program's sixth head coach in January).
- Khesanio Hall has now scored during three of his last six Northeastern matches. His last goal came on Oct. 24, 2015, against College of Charleston.
- The Huskies last extra-time win came on Nov. 1, 2014, against James Madison (W, 2-1, 2OT). Friday's double-overtime victory snapped a five-match, extra-time winless streak.
- Jack Reynolds was credited with the first assist of his collegiate career during the 101st minute. He is the first member of the Huskies' incoming recruiting class to register a point this season.
- Northeastern's 16 corners on Friday tie the program's CAA record (Nov. 4, 2007 vs. Towson).
- NU goalkeeper Jonathan Thuresson notched his sixth career shutout and first of 2016. He made two saves during the 88th and 100th minutes.
