BROOKLINE, Mass. – Facing a skillful Hofstra side, the Northeastern men's soccer team was unable to claw its way back from behind as the Huskies experienced a 3-0 defeat by the Pride on Wednesday night at Parsons Field.
Â
Senior forward
Khesanio Hall led the Huskies with five shots, eyeing the game's equalizer when his header was saved during the 17th minute.
Christian McKenna had a roaring look at his second goal of the season just 30 seconds into the first half, but was denied when his shot sailed above the crossbar.
Â
Luke Brown scored a pair of goals for Hofstra (5-3-1, 3-0-0 CAA), which won its third consecutive league match, all by way of a clean sheet. Meshack Eshun Addy netted the game's opening goal during the 11th minute.
Â
Northeastern (2-7-0, 1-2-0 CAA) managed to produce nine shots, but were bettered in the category by the Pride's 15. NU raised its second-half intensity and attempted seven shots during the final 45 minutes, despite being unable to direct one on goal.
Ackim Mpofu,
Khori Bennett, and
Jonas Taenzer balanced Hall's five attempts and McKenna's laser during the evening.
