Northeastern falls to Hofstra at home

BOSTON –Amy Underdown led the match in kills as Northeastern fell to Hofstra 3-0 on Wednesday. Despite the loss, the Huskies remain in third place in the conference standings with one match remaining in the regular season.
 
Underdown racked up 16 kills, eight digs and four aces in the three-set match. The sophomore's four aces tied her career high that was set on September 29 against Delaware. Underdown has recorded 413 kills this season, the 10th most in a single season in program history.
 
Sophomore Natalie Shollin recorded 11 kills and two blocks, while senior Brigitte Burcescu contributed seven kills, three digs and one block. Freshman Athena Ardila recorded five kills, four digs and one block.
 
Gabrielle Eyl was solid from the back row with 18 digs in the match. Samantha Shupe and Kristen Walding combined for 33 assists on the night. Walding also posted four kills. From behind the line, freshman Gabrielle Tschannen tallied two aces.
 
The Huskies will head to Virginia to face James Madison on Friday in the final match of the regular season.

The Huskies will head to Harrisonburg, Virginia on Friday to take on James Madison at 7 p.m. in the final match of the regular season.
