THREE THINGS TO KNOW:

  1. Locking up the 3-Seed

  • The Huskies went 1-1 last weekend, falling in a close battle with Delaware on Friday night before dominating Drexel on Sunday afternoon
  • The Blue Hens got out to a quick 2-0 lead, but Northeastern bounced back and took the lead using three consecutive goals before the Blue Hens evened the score midway through the second half
  • A controversial foul call and a quick start by Lotte de Koning to find open space in the circle sealed the win for the Blue Hens, 4-3
  • On Sunday, Northeastern bounced back and jumped out to a fast 2-0 lead by the 10th minute of action over the Dragons
  • The team added a solidifying second half goal, and allowed one to Drexel, but came away with the victory sealing their place in the CAA Tournament

  1. But who are we taking on?

HUSKIES VS. WILLIAM & MARY
  • After facing the Tribe in their first CAA contest of the season, Northeastern will face William & Mary in the opening game of the CAA Tournament
  • This will mark just the second time that the two teams have met in the CAA Tournament in program history, with the other coming in the 2006 season, Northeastern's second after joining the CAA
  • The last CAA Tournament action between the two teams came in Boston, a 4-1 victory for the Huskies
  • Northeastern is 2-0 all-time against William & Mary on neutral sites

WILLIAM & MARY IN 2018
  • The Tribe head into the CAA Tournament with the No. 2 seed, a 9-7 record and a 5-1 finish to the conference season
  • William & Mary is led by Estelle Hughes, who has recorded 10 goals and five assists on the season for a team-leading 25 points
  • In goal, Kimi Jones has played the majority of time, coming up with 48 saves and a 1.91 GAA

ALL-TIME SERIES WITH THE TRIBE
  • Northeastern leads, 11-8

  1. Huskies in the CAA Tourney

  • Northeastern is making its 10th appearance in the CAA Tournament since joining the conference in 2005
  • Northeastern is 6-9 overall in those nine past trips, making an appearance in the Championship Game four times
  • After missing the 2015 and 2016 CAA Tournaments, the Huskies are returning for the second-straight season in 2018
