Wilmington, N.C. -- Northeastern volleyball (10-8, 3-2) lost their first match in two weeks at University of North Carolina at Wilmington (9-4, 2-1) on Friday afternoon, 3-1. The Huskies now stand at .600 in CAA play.

Despite a tough loss, Athena Ardila, racked up 20 kills for 21.5 points against the Seahawks for her second-best performance – behind her 23 kill, 23.5 point match at New Hampshire – in her career.

Natalie Shollin tied for her season-high blocks with 5.0 against UNCW and Gabrielle Eyl tabbed 25 digs for her second-best tally in the 2018 season. Samantha Shupe threw in 36 assists for the Huskies.

After the Howlin' Huskies easily won the first set, 25-21, the Seahawks' 6-0 run early in set two gave them the lead they needed to equalize the teams at one set apiece with a 25-19 win. This momentum carried UNCW for the rest of the match, as they held the lead through sets three and four to eventually win the CAA matchup.

Next Up:
The Huskies remain in the Carolinas this weekend as they head south to College of Charleston (13-5, 4-0) for a 1 p.m. match on Sunday.
