Towson, MD. – The Northeastern volleyball team (8-7, 1-1) settled their CAA record to .500 with a win over Towson (6-9, 1-1) on Saturday evening, 3-2.

Hannah Boyd returned to assist the Huskies' offense after missing Thursday's match against James Madison and offered NU 16 kills for 17 points to pace the offense.
Athena Ardila closely followed Boyd with 16 kills for 16 points.
Gabrielle Tschannen added in 14 kills for a .500 hitting percentage against the Tigers.Â

Samantha Shupe had her third-best performance of the 2018 season with 47 assists and four blocks for the Huskies.
Gabrielle Eyl repeated her performance from JMU with 23 digs and added in four assists.

The first two sets stayed extremely close within the two teams, with neither team finding a larger lead than two points. However, toward the end of the first set, the Tigers pulled ahead, 25-21 for the win, while the Huskies pulled ahead in set two to secure, 26-24.

The third set read a different story with a kill by Tschannen setting off a string of plays by the Howlin' Huskies that put them ahead by ten, leading them to a 25-15 win.

Although the Huskies accepted a fourth set defeat, 25-13, they came back to dominate the Tigers in set five to win the match, 15-8. Â

The Huskies return home next week to host William & Mary (4-5, 0-0) and Elon (8-4, 0-1) on Friday and Sunday, respectively.Â
