DEDHAM, Mass. — The Northeastern field hockey team has a chance to clinch an appearance in the CAA Tournament for the sixth straight full season this Friday at 3 p.m. with a matchup against the Hofstra Pride at Dedham Field and then will travel to Orono, Maine for a game against the Maine Black Bears at 1 p.m. Sunday. The contest with Hofstra will be streaming on FloSports and NESN while the matchup with Maine is on ESPN+.
Friday's game is Northeastern field hockey's Mental Health Matters Game, where the Huskies will be partnering with Morgan's Message and distributing stickers and pins.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
- HOW CAN WE BE OF ASSIST-ANCE? The Huskies have racked up a CAA-high 38 assists. Senior forward Sarah Coyle leads the conference with eight helpers, while graduate student Lauren Rowe is tied for second with seven and junior back Maria Armaganian and senior forward Mak Graves (each with five) are tied for fourth in the conference.
- HONING IN ON HOFSTRA: The Huskies and Pride have faced off 27 times, with the Huskies owning the all-time series lead 20-7. Last year, Northeastern won 2-1 in double overtime. Scoring the winner was senior forward Mak Graves while sophomore Emmy Stubbs had the other tally. The Huskies have won three straight against the Pride dating back to 2021.
- ENTERING THE BEARS' DEN: Northeastern travels to Maine for the first time since 2021, where the Huskies fell 2-0 to the Black Bears. Last season, the Huskies got two goals from Mak Graves in a 4-2 loss at home, but the Huskies hold the series record of 25-12-1 over the Black Bears all-time. Maine is currently fourth in America East and holds a 7-8 record this season.
After this weekend's slate, Northeastern closes out the regular season with its senior day at home Friday, Oct. 29 against Drexel at 3 p.m. at Dedham Field. That matchup will be streaming on FloSports and NESN.
