Huskies Host Delaware in CAA Showdown

DEDHAM, Mass. — After almost a month of road games, the Northeastern field hockey team ( plays host to the Delaware Blue Hens Friday, Oct. 6 at 3 p.m. at Dedham Field. It's the Huskies' first scheduled weekend with just one contest this season, and it will be streaming on both NESN and FloSports. 

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. DO YOU NEED ASSIST-ANCE? The Huskies have racked up a CAA-high 32 assists, tied with Drexel. Senior forward Sarah Coyle is tied for first in the conference with seven helpers, while junior back Maria Armaganian and senior forward Mak Graves (each with 5) are tied for second in the conference.
  2. MEGA MONEY MOVES: For her efforts over the past weekend, freshman forward Alex Mega was named CAA Co-Rookie of the Week after a five-point weekend. The East Greenwich, R.I. native scored her fifth goal in the 6-1 win over Towson and her sixth goal in a 3-2 double overtime loss at Boston University, making her second on the Huskies in goals and tied for fourth in the CAA.
  3. BLUE HENS FLY INTO TOWN: The Huskies are looking for two things to happen this season that have not occured since 2012: Making an NCAA Tournament and beating Delaware. The Huskies lost to Delaware last year in the CAA semifinal 6-1 and fell 3-2 after a shootout during the regular season. Delaware is fourth in the CAA in both goals and goals allowed.
Next up, the Huskies travel to Monmouth for a 4 p.m. contest with the Hawks in West Long Branch, N.J. next Friday, Oct. 13 and will make up a rain-out against No. 11 Boston College Tuesday, Oct. 17 at 2 p.m. at Dedham Field.
