BOSTON — The Northeastern field hockey team kicks off three weekends of road games this Friday, Sept. 15 with a contest at UMass Lowell and plays No. 15 Harvard in Cambridge Sunday, Sept. 17. The Huskies' matchup with the River Hawks can be streamed on America East TV and their matchup with Harvard will be on ESPN+.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- THE FIRST NAME EFFECT: Graduate student midfielder Lauren Rowe and senior Lauryn Wojcik have combined for nine goals this season, with Rowe scoring five and Wojcik scoring four. Rowe also has two multi-goal games this year and nine in her career with the Huskies.
- STRONG ARM-AGANIAN: Junior midfielder Maria Armaganian earned CAA Player of the Week honors for her go-ahead penalty stroke goal in the Huskies' 3-2 win over Brown Friday, Sept. 8. It was her first goal of the season and first time winning the award. Armaganian also helped on the game-winning goal scored by freshman forward Alex Mega.
- KOWALSKI! ANALYSIS: The River Hawks and Huskies have met just five times, with Northeastern holding a 3-2 series advantage despite suffering a 4-2 loss to UMass Lowell last season. The Crimson are ranked 15th this year by the NFHCA and won last year's matchup 2-0, but the Huskies are 24-16 against them all-time.
The Huskies will kick off CAA play next weekend as they travel to William & Mary Friday, Sept. 22 and then take on VCU Sunday, Sept. 24. The first contest will be streamed on FloSports and the matchup with VCU will be on ESPN+.
