Northeastern Welcomes William & Mary, Travels To New Hampshire

DEDHAM, Mass. — The Northeastern field hockey team (4-6, 0-1 CAA) gears up for two games this weekend, starting with the William & Mary Tribe (0-10, 0-1 CAA) on Friday, Oct. 4 at 2 p.m for its Cancer Awareness Game. The Huskies then travel north to face off against the New Hampshire Wildcats (4-6, 1-0 AE) on Sunday, Oct. 6 at 1 p.m. Friday's game with William & Mary will be streamed on FloSports, and the game against New Hampshire will be available on America East TV.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW
  1. REMARKABLE ROWE — Graduate student captain Lauren Rowe earned CAA Co-Offensive Player of the Week this past Monday, as announced by the conference. The Norwich, England native was on fire from start to finish, scoring the Huskies opening three goals and adding an assist in the 6-3 win against UMass Lowell. Sunday's hat trick was her first since 2021 and fourth in her collegiate career. Rowe is also on the edge of writing herself in Northeastern field hockey history, as her next assist would tie her for fifth all-time in career assists with former Northeastern field hockey player and coach Shelly Morris.
  2. AROUND THE CORNER — Northeastern has excelled at penalty corners this season. The team leads the CAA in penalty corners and is tied for 17th in the country with 67, and is tied for third in the nation with 10 penalty corner goals.
  3. ALL YOU NEED IN 60 SECONDS — Northeastern welcomes the Tribe to town, both of whom are in search of their first CAA win of the season. The Huskies fell in last year's matchup 2-1 in Williamsburg and will look for back-to-back wins for the first time this season. Following Friday, the team focuses its efforts on New Hampshire for Sunday. This will be the 48th overall meeting, with the Huskies holding a 26-20-1 all-time series lead. The Wildcats took a 3-0 victory in the most recent contest in 2021.
Following this weekend, Northeastern hosts Towson for another CAA matchup on Friday, Oct. 11, at 3 p.m. before taking on city rival Boston University on Sunday, Oct. 13, at 1 p.m. The game with Towson can be streamed on FloSports, and Sunday's battle at Boston University will be available on ESPN+.
