Huskies Begin Conference Play At Towson

BOSTON — The Northeastern field hockey team (4-3) opens CAA play by traveling to Towson at the end of this week. On Friday, the Huskies play the Tigers at 4 p.m. The game will be streamed on FloCollege.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW
  1. STAT CHECK-IN — Nearing the mid-point of the season, among all CAA players, junior Alex Mega holds the most shots on goal, with 17 shots. On the defensive end, graduate student Arabella Loveridge has made the second most saves this season within CAA goalies, with 38 saves. The team as a whole, sits in second place in the conference for average goals per game, with 5.14. Towson falls very close behind with 5.13 average goals per game.
  2. CAA PLAY —  This game marks the first of five CAA conference games for the Huskies this season. Northeastern will face all CAA teams: Towson, William and Mary, Hofstra, Drexel and Monmouth. The Huskies won four of these matches last season, only falling to Drexel. The team last made it to the CAA championship final in 2019, where they fell to Delaware 1-2.
  3. SCOUT REPORT — Northeastern faces CAA opponent Towson for the 28th time. The Huskies hold a 23-4-0 edge in the all-time series against the Tigers. Last season, the Huskies beat the Tigers 3-1. Towson enters the match against the Huskies 4-4 on the season. The upcoming game marks the beginning of the Tiger's CAA play as well.
The Huskies take another road trip to William and Mary on Friday, Oct. 3 and then back home to face Boston College for the Beat Cancer Game on Sunday, Oct. 5.
