BOSTON -- Northeastern field hockey (3-6, 2-0 CAA) returns home for a pair of games at Dedham Field this weekend, hosting Towson (4-8, 0-3 CAA) on Friday, Oct. 9 at 3 p.m. before welcoming Stonehill (2-7, 2-1 NEC) to Dedham Field on Sunday, Oct. 11 at noon.
Friday's CAA matchup against the Tigers will air on NESN+, and both contests will stream on FloCollege.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
- CONFERENCE PLAY RESUMES: Northeastern enters the weekend 2-0 in CAA play, sitting second in the conference standings behind Monmouth, and has outscored its conference opponents 7-0. The Huskies have been led offensively by Alex Mega, who leads the team with three goals, four assists and 10 points, while Amelia Albers has added two goals and two assists for six points. Camille Armaganian also has three goals, including three successful penalty strokes on three tries, while Maggie Lundy has two goals and an assist. In goal, Aiko Price has recorded four shutouts and 44 saves through nine games, posting a .759 save percentage and 1.87 goals-against average. Her save percentage is ranked 20th in the NCAA entering the weekend, second-best in the CAA.
- SCOUTING THE TIGERS: – Towson enters Friday's CAA matchup at 4-8 overall and 0-3 in conference play after dropping its last two games, falling 2-1 at William & Mary on Oct. 2 before suffering a 1-0 setback at VCU on Oct. 4. The Tigers' four wins have come against Georgetown, Rider, Penn and Maine, with Delfina Larripa leading the team with eight points on four goals.
- SCOUTING THE SKYHAWKS: Stonehill comes to Dedham on Sunday at 2-7 overall and 2-1 in NEC play. The Skyhawks earned conference wins over Merrimack and Mercyhurst but dropped their most recent contest, falling 2-1 to Queens on Oct. 3 after leading for most of the game. Delaney Wojnarowicz, Havana De Roeck and Teagan O'Donnell lead Stonehill with six points apiece, while goalkeeper Isabelle Morton has made 79 saves on the season.
