BOSTON -- The Northeastern University field hockey team (0-3) returns to Dedham Field for a pair of home games this weekend, hosting UC Davis (2-2) on Friday at 5 p.m. before welcoming Stanford (4-0) on Sunday at 11 a.m. for Future Huskies Day and Alumni Game. Both matches will stream on FloCollege.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:

LAST TIME OUT: Northeastern pulled within a goal in the final minutes at Holy Cross on Friday, but couldn't complete the comeback in a 3-2 loss. After falling behind 1-0, redshirt senior Amelia Albers tied it at 17:40 on an assist from Alex Mega for the first goal of her Husky career. Holy Cross answered twice to build a 3-1 lead before Juana Gonzalez-Peyru scored her first goal of the season at 58:09, assisted by Izzy Johnson for her first career point.

SCOUTING UC DAVIS: The Aggies enter Friday's matchup at 2-2, most recently claiming a 2-1 shootout win over Bellarmine on Sunday after dropping a 2-1 decision to Columbia earlier in the week. UC Davis is in its second season as a founding member of the MPSF field hockey conference, an independent league that added Queens University of Charlotte this year. Senior midfielders Morgan Caldera and Ella Franken both earned spots on the preseason NFHCA Division I Collegiate Watchlist, the program's first multiple honorees since 2023.

SCOUTING STANFORD: The Cardinal arrive in New England unbeaten at 4-0, the best start of the Roz Ellis era and Stanford's first 4-0 mark since 2021. Stanford outscored its four opponents 14-2 in a season-opening homestand, capped by a 5-0 rout of Bellarmine that saw five different players find the scoresheet. Sunday's game is the second stop on the Cardinal's first road trip of the season, a Northeast swing that began with a Friday matchup at Holy Cross.
