NORFOLK, VA -- The second ranked Old Dominion field hockey team (15-4, 3-0 CAA) defeated #19 Northeastern (14-6, 9-0 America East) 6-0 in the regular season fnale for both teams Foreman Field.

Senior Crystal Carper (Fredericksburg, VA) netted the game-winner minutes into the game and senior Julie Miracle (Audubon, PA) added the second ODU goal in the closing minutes of the half for a 2-0 halftime lead.

Four more Lady Monarchs goals followed in the second stanza with sophomore Melissa Leonetti (Erdenheim, PA), senior Adrienne Yoder (Coopersburg, PA), junior Tara Herrmann (Perkasie, PA), and Miracle all reaching the back of the Husky net.

The Lady Monarchs held the Huskies to just three shots on net and three penalty corners. On the other hand, Old Dominion fired off 21 shots and took 16 penalty corners. Old Dominion goalkeepers Marybeth Freeman (Holland, PA) and Tina Walker (Suffolk, VA) combined for three saves in the Lady Monarch cage, while Northeastern's Kathleen Madaus (Boylston, MA) and Emily Roy (Winslow, ME) combined for eight saves in the Husky net.

The Huskies return to action on Friday, when they are the top-seed in the America East Championship, which Northeastern hosts.
