The Cal Golden Bears, the #12 ranked team in the nation, defeated Northeastern Saturday afternoon in three games in the second match for both teams at the season opening Cal Molten Classic.

Cal's Angie Pressey led all players with 10 kills, while setter Carli Lloyd had 42 assists. Ellen Orchard and Hana Cutura each had eight kills for the Golden Bears. In the third game, Cal hit an impressive .485 on their way to closing out the match.

For the Huskies, Lauren DeTurk led the way with nine kills, while freshman Britney Brown had her second straight strong game, contributing 13 assists.

Later this evening, Northeastern completes the two day event against the University of Idaho.
