The Huskies picked up their first win of 2007 in convincing fashion Tuesday afternoon, sweeping the Maine Black Bears 30-20, 30-18, 30-20. Freshman Britney Brown recorded a match high 12 kills and hit .421 as Northeastern improves to 1-3 on the season.

With the score tied 7-7, Northeastern took command of game one by scoring 10 of the game's next 14 points to take a 17-11 lead, as the Huskies eased to a win in the opening game. Northeastern ran away with game two, taking a game that was once 5-5, and turning it into a 18-10 advantage that provided them with plenty of cushion to take a 2-0 lead in the match. Game three was much of the same as the Huskies jumped out to a 10-3 lead and never looked back en route to a 30-20 win.

Brown had 18 assists to go along with her 12 kills, while Jillian Robinson led all players with 21 assists. Junior Lauren DeTurk had eight kills along with 15 digs, while Kira Batura and Sarah Stein added six and five kills respectively.

The Huskies get back in action Thursday afternoon when they travel to Boston College, before having their home opener against Sacred Heart on Friday as part of the BC/NU Challenge.
