The Huskies rebounded from yesterday's loss with a 3-1 (28-30, 31-29, 30-24, 30-19) win over Harvard University Sunday afternoon in Cambridge, Mass. Kira Batura was among three Huskies to record double digit kills with a team high 20. The Huskies return to action next Friday when they take on Georgia State in Atlanta, Ga.
After dropping the first game 28-30, Northeastern rebounded with a hard fought 31-29 win in game two. Northeastern trailed in this game 19-26, but a kill by Caitlin Tittl began a stretch where the Huskies won eight of the game's next nine points to take a 28-27 lead. With the score tied at 29, a kill by Lauren DeTurk and an ace by Britney Brown gave the Huskies the game.
The Huskies scored the first seven points of game three, and led by as much as 10 points at 19-9 en route to taking the third game. Batura recorded seven kills in this game and hit .357 (7-14).
Game four was tied at 9-9 after a Harvard attack error, but after that point, the Huskies went on a 13-5 run to take a commanding 22-14 lead, their largest of the game.
Deturk, 15 kills, and Brown with 10 kills were the other two Huskies to reach double figures, while Tittl had nine and Sarah Stein recorded eight. Jessica Tkachuk led the way in assists with 34, while Batura had a match high 26 digs.
