BOSTON – With just eight days until the Huskies' season opener against Monmouth, two members of the Northeastern field hockey team earned conference accolades on Thursday when senior captain Lindsay Bennett, along with sophomore Zoe Kale, were named to the Preseason All-CAA team.

Bennett (Kansas City, Mo.) enters her final season on Huntington Avenue as the team's leading returning scorer. The forward had a breakout season for the Huskies a year ago, tallying five goals and 11 assists, which was good for third on the team. She started all 21 games for NU in 2012, helping lead the Huskies to a 14-7 record.

Kale also started each game for Northeastern last season as part of the Huskies' midfield, finishing the campaign with one goal. The Blue Bell, Pa. native was named to the CAA All-Rookie squad, and netted her first collegiate goal in a 4-3 victory against Maine on Oct. 14.

Defending CAA champion Drexel led the way with four student-athletes earning league recognition, led by 2013 Preseason Player of the Year Lindsay McArdle. She was joined by teammates Danielle Grassi, Lauren Hibshman and Jenna Knouse.

Northeastern is coming off a 14-7 record in 2012, highlighted by its 16th appearance in the NCAA tournament in program history. The Huskies kickoff the 2013 slate on Aug. 30 (6 p.m.) against Monmouth at the team's new facility in Dedham, Mass.
