InfographicTOWSON, Md. – Scoring a season high six goals on Friday night, the Northeastern field hockey team ousted Towson with a 6-3 win over the Tigers at Johnny Unitas Stadium.

The six Husky goals were the most since a 7-1 win over UC Davis on Sept. 28, 2014.

Northeastern (5-12, 2-3 CAA) recorded 30 shots on the night, 21 coming on goal. Three different Huskies recorded multi-goal games on the night. Freshmen

Mia Martin recorded their first career multi-goal games while senior
Vanessa Pryor notched her second career multi-goal game. Towson (2-15, 0-5) only managed six shots on goal on the net.

In between the posts,
Becky Garner made three saves giving her 113 total saves on the season, a new season high for the junior besting her previous season save high of 111 set during her rookie campaign. Â

The Huskies jumped out to a 4-1 halftime lead over the Tigers, using 19 shots, 12 on goal. The 12 shots on goal in the first half were more than 15 games this season and the most in one half since tallying 16 shots on goal in the second half against Monmouth.

The four goals were also the most first half goals by the Huskies this season. Northeastern notched four goals against Monmouth in the second half of their 5-4 win against the Hawks.

Pryor got the Huskies on the board first taking advantage of a penalty corner opportunity. Off of the insert by
Kristin Abreu, Pryor slammed home NU's first goal of the game, and her fourth goal of the season.

Six minutes later, Curry-Lindahl extended Northeastern's lead to 2-0 on her fourth goal of the season whipping in a shot from the top of the circle at 19:33 followed by a Pryor goal, her second goal of the game, at 25:33 in a flurry in front of the net to give NU a 3-0 lead.

Martin tabbed her second goal of the season and first goal of the game less than two minutes later to extend the Husky lead to four goals with some help from redshirt freshman
Kellie Stigas.

Towson got one goal back before the end of the half and notched two unanswered second half goals to cut the Husky lead to just one. Following the Tigers' third goal of the game head coach
Cheryl Murtagh called a timeout.

The Huskies came out of the timeout ready to strike and did when Curry-Lindahl recorded her second goal of the night at 57:33 dribbling from the top of the circle and netting the Huskies fifth goal of the game to give the team a two-goal cushion.

Martin notched her second goal of the game to seal the victory for the Huskies at 60:31Â with some help from rookie
Abbey MacLellan.

Northeastern will look to continue its winning ways when it rounds out their regular season with a home game against No. 14 Delaware on Senior Day Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Dedham Field. The team will honor its three seniors, Carlson,
Zoe Kale and Pryor prior to the game.
