Charleston, S.C. – Northeastern's eight-game winning streak came to an end after falling to the College of Charleston in three sets. Northeastern (11-5) is now 1-1 in the CAA while Charleston (9-5) improves to 2-0. Northeastern dropped the first set 25-14 but was able to challenge Charleston in sets two and three keeping a tighter margin of 25-22 and 25-19.
 
Senior 
Caterina Rosander posted another error-less match. Rosander recorded seven kills on 16 attempts for an overall hitting percentage of .438. Rosander also totaled five blocks.
 
Kristen Walding led the Huskies in assists with 24 and 
Gabrielle Eyl registered the team high in digs with 19.
 
For the Cougars, Devon Rachel and Riana Brennan recorded double-doubles. Rachel notched 14 kills (match high) and 19 digs while Brennan put down 10 kills and 16 digs. Allison Beckman tallied 38 assists and McKala Rhodes had the match high of 23 digs.
 
 
Set One Recap: (25-14 College of Charleston)
	- Northeastern and Charleston traded points early on keeping the score tied through 5.
 
	- The Cougars put some pressure on the Huskies as they took the lead 11-6.
 
	- Charleston held its lead, pushing the score to 18-13.
 
	- At 13-6, Charleston began a 9-1 run that ended the first set and gave the Cougars a 1-0 advantage in the match.
 
 
Set Two Recap: (25-22 College of Charleston)
	- Brigitte Burcescu put down three kills early to give Northeastern a 4-1 lead.
 
	- A snipe from Walding and a kill from Bredahl increased the Huskies' lead to five. (8-3)
 
	- Charleston wasn't going to let Northeastern run away with the set, tying the game at 10.
 
	- Northeastern regained a three-point lead at 17-14 following a kill from Shaina White.
 
	- Charleston bounced back to tie the score again at 19.
 
	- Northeastern battled but was unable to fend off a last minute rally from the Cougars who took the set 25-22.
 
 
Set Three Recap: (25-19 College of Charleston)
	- Northeastern began set three with a strong blocking game that lead to a 7-5 lead.
 
	- Charleston fought back taking the reigns of the set with a 17-11 advantage.
 
	- The Cougars held their four-point lead to end the match 3-0.
 
 
Next Up:
The Huskies will now return to the comfort of Cabot Center for a six-match home stand beginning Friday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. against William and Mary.
