BOSTON – The Huskies volleyball team is back in action this weekend at the Pepperdine/CSUN Challenge in California. Northeastern will first face off against Pepperdine on Friday at 10 p.m. (ET).
Maryland Invite
The Huskies began their 2017 volleyball season last weekend at the Maryland Invite, finishing the tournament with one win and two losses. Northeastern captured its first win of the season against UMBC. After dropping the first set, the Huskies cam back to win the match 3-1.

Outside hitter
Amy Underdown had a great tournament for the Red and Black. The sophomore was named to the All-Tournament Team and finished the weekend with 29 kills, 30 digs and three aces. Against UMBC, Underdown totaled 18 kills, which tied her collegiate high that was set on August 27, 2016 against Florida Atlantic.

Athena Ardila,
Katie Rolfe,
Samantha Shupe and
Gabrielle Tschannen all made their collegiate debut at the Maryland Invite. Ardila racked up 23 kills and a team-leading 10 blocks.

Gabrielle Eyl was solid from the back row all tournament for the Huskies, tallying up 53 digs on the weekend.

Northeastern at Pepperdine:
This will be the Huskies first matchup against the Waves.

Pepperdine opened up their 2017 season at the San Jose State/San Francisco, where it finished the weekend with two wins (Utah Valley, Fresno State) and one loss (San Jose State).

Northeastern vs. Weber State:
This will be the Huskies first matchup against the Wildcats.

Weber State began its season at the Arizona State Tournament, where it fell to Arizona
State, Boise State and North Dakota State.

Northeastern vs. CSUN
This will be the second matchup between the Huskies and the Matadors. The last came in 2003, when CSUN beat Northeastern 3-0.

The Matadors began their season at the Aztec Invitational, where they finished the
weekend with one win (San Diego State) and two losses (Portland State, Eastern Kentucky).
