BOSTON – The Northeastern field hockey team is on the road for a pair of games this weekend when they head to Towson and William & Mary.

Friday night's game at Towson at 7 p.m. will also serve as the conference opener for the Huskies, who will open the season against Towson for the first time since 2006.

Northeastern will round out the weekend in Williamsburg against a ranked Tribe at 1 p.m., the first time Northeastern will face a ranked William & Mary since 2012. Â Â

LAST TIME OUT
• The Huskies went 1-1 last weekend against Maine and Vermont
• On Friday afternoon, Maine was able to stifle the Huskies, who were on the road in Orono, holding them to just one goal in a 4-1 loss
• Northeastern bounced back on Sunday afternoon against the Catamounts
• After falling behind 0-2 in the first 20 minute of action, the Huskies reeled off six straight goals, including a pair by senior
Kristin Abreu, to seal a 6-2 victory over the Catamounts on Legends Sunday at Dedham Field

• Towson is 1-9 entering the weekend and is coming off of their first win of the season Sunday over LIU Brooklyn
• Towson has scored nine goals on the season led by Kendra Sykes (3g) while Emilee Woodall has seen the majoriy of time in goal with 120 saves already this season and a 3.92 GAA
• Towson and Northeastern have met 20 times in the past with the Huskies owning a 17-3 series lead, including a 7-1 victory to round out the 2016 season last year
• The Huskies are currently on a five-game win streak over the Tigers with the last loss coming in the 2011 season

• William & Mary are 6-4 through their first 10 games heading into this weekend of action
• The Tribe are led by Cammie Lloyd who has seven goals and three assists on the year and her 17 points rank fifth in the CAA while in net, Morgan Connor has seen the majority of action and holds a 2.14 GAA while making 53 saves
• Northeastern & William & Mary have met 17 times in a series that begin in 1983
• The two teams have met every year since the Huskies joined the CAA in 2005 with Northeastern tallying a 9-4 record during that time
• Northeaster has won four of the last five games over the Tribe, though William & Mary came away with a 3-1 victory last year in Dedham on a rainy Sunday afternoon

• Northeastern begins CAA play this weekend when they head to Towson on Friday
• NU is 17-11 all-time in conference openers, but 3-9 during CAA play

• Eight teams Northeastern will face this season are currently ranked in the NFHCA Coaches Poll
