BOSTON – Northeastern (5-5) is making their first home appearance of the 2018 season, hosting the New England Challenge. Local teams, Harvard (2-4), Boston College (9-0) and University of Massachusetts at Lowell (1-9), will appear at Cabot Center to play against the Huskies.
2018
• The Howlin' Huskies are sitting at .500 after competing in three tournaments and one solo match at New Hampshire.
• Northeastern has spent the season thus far on the road. They're first home match will be against Harvard on Friday.
• Last year, the Huskies went 9-3 at home.
• On Tuesday, the Huskies traveled to New Hampshire where they won their third straight, 3-1 against the Wildcats.
ARDILA IN ACTION
•
Athena Ardila had a career-best performance on Tuesday at UNH. Ardila paced the Huskies' offense with 23 kills, 23.5 points and a .442 hitting percentage.
• The sophomore tallied ten kills in the fourth set alone against the Wildcats, to lead the Huskies to a 25-17 set win.
• Ahead of UNH, Ardila's best showing was 16 kills vs. Charleston in 2017.
NORTHEASTERN VS.
HARVARD
• The Huskies have played a total of 24 matches against Harvard, and lead 17-7 in their all-time record.
• NU lost in 2017 at home, 3-1 at the New England Challenge. Former Husky,
Amy Underdown recorded a double-double in the match – a loss the Huskies will feel this season.
BOSTON COLLEGE
• NU has an extensive history against BC, dating back to 1991, with the Huskies leading the series history, 17-11.
• The 2017 match against the two was a thriller, with NU recording the second highest attendance in program history. The Huskies beach BC, 3-2 while
Gabrielle Tschannen and
Gabrielle Eyl both had career record-breaking games.
UMASS LOWELL
• The Huskies have only ever played Lowell three times and they lead, 3-0.
• In 2017, NU took a 2-1 lead in the first set and never fell behind the rest of the match, sweeping the River Hawks, 3-0.
