The Huskies struggled to get their offense started against the Phoenix in the first and fourth sets. Elon pulled ahead and take set one, 25-16, and used a 9-2 early run for a 25-17 fourth set advantage.
Â
However, they used their set break to come back with electricity, taking an early lead that they refused release in the second set, leading them to a 25-20 set win. This momentum carried the Huskies to take their second set win, 25-22, and pull ahead of the Phoenix, two sets to one.
Â
The fifth set was energizing to those in the Cabot Center, as the teams rallied back and forth exchanging leads until the last point. The Huskies were eventually able to get the two-point advantage to give them a 19-17 fifth set win.
