Huskies Hit The Road For Two Pivotal CAA Games

BOSTON – Northeastern (2-5, 0-1 CAA) heads to Drexel (3-4, 1-2 CAA) on Friday and Hofstra (3-6, 0-1 CAA) on Sunday for their first road trip during conference play. Friday's game at Drexel will be streamed on FloSports
 
MAKING STRIDES
Redshirt junior, Erin Savage has taken the reigns in goal starting all seven games on the season and registering 36 saves including a career-high nine against UMass Lowell. Lauren Rowe leads the team with four goals and two assists in six games this season. She was named CAA Player of the Week after scoring three goals in the first two games of the season (story). Sophomores Cailin Hart and Cassie Brazinsky, plus freshman Sarah Coyle have all tallied their first career goals this season. Mak Graves and Hart are tied for second on the team in goals, with two. Angela Connolly also has a goal and three assists this season. 
 
LAST TIME OUT
Melanie Weber scored the game winning goal to lead Northeastern in a 2-1 overtime victory against Providence. Weber scored the game winning goal as she drove into the circle and sent a shot into the corner of the cage. Hart gave the Huskies the lead in the first quarter when she scored her second goal of the season off a penalty corner shot that was inserted by Connolly. Connolly now leads the team in assists with three. Savage held Providence to one goal, making three saves on the Friars' four shots on goal and three corners.
 
SCOUTING DREXEL
The last competition between the two team was during the 2019 season, when the Huskies beat Drexel 2-1 to clinch their spot in the CAA tournament. Northeastern leads the overall record between the two teams, 20-8-1. In their most recent outing, Drexel dropped a game to Hofstra, 5-2. Freshman Eline Di Leva leads the Dragons with five goals and 11 points. Di Leva has scored at least one goal in four out of Drexel's seven games this season. Freshman Stephanie Oleykowski leads the team in defensive saves, with two. She has also recorded two assists and two points. Sophomore goalkeeper Megan Hadfield has made 30 saves for Drexel this season.
 
SCOUTING HOFSTRA
Northeastern has won seven of the last 10 matchups against Hofstra and holds an 18-7 lead in the overall record between the two teams. In their last competition, Hofstra earned a 5-2 win over Drexel. Jasmijn Verdoes scored a goal for Hofstra, putting her at first in goals on the team with three. Junior Djuna Slort is tied for second on the team in goals after scoring two in the win over Drexel. Sophomore goalkeeper After recording six saves against Drexel, Merlijn van der Vegt has totaled 32 saves this season for the Pride.
