Volleyball extends win streak to 10 games with win at Hofstra

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Northeastern defeated Hofstra 3-1 on Sunday to extend their win streak to 10 games. Gabrielle Eyl recorded her 1,500th career dig, while Amy Underdown and Samantha Shupe both posted double-doubles in the Huskies' victory.
 
Eyl's first dig of the match gave her 1,500 career digs for the Huskies, she tallied 18 more digs on the day. The junior sits fourth all-time in program history
 
Underdown racked up 17 kills and 12 digs for her 12th double-double of the season, while Shupe posted 21 assists and 12 digs on the match for her sixth double-double of the year.  
 
Brigitte Burcescu and Athena Ardila both had great days for the Red and Black with 14 and 13 kills, respectively. Gabrielle Tschannen recorded five blocks.
 
Clare Lund was solid from the back row all match, with 16 digs. From behind the line, Sherrie Wang recorded two aces on the match.
 
With this victory, the Huskies move to 9-0 in Colonial Athletic Association play, the only undefeated team in the conference.

  • An ace from Wang gave the Huskies a 10-5 lead
  • Burcescu's kill put Northeastern ahead 17-10
  • A kill from Ardila secured the set and match win for the Huskiesxa
