BOSTON – The Huskies swept Delaware on Friday to clinch a spot in the 2017 Colonial Athletic Association tournament. With this win, Northeastern moves to 9-2 in conference and 16-8 on the year.

Kristen Walding posted 27 assists on the night, while recording her 3,000th career assist for Northeastern. The senior is now one of only three Huskies to record 3,000 assists in their career.

Amy Underdown recorded her 14th double-double of the season, while racking up a match-leading 13 kills, 13 digs and three blocks.

Carmen Costa and Gabrielle Tschannen also had big nights for the Red and Black, tallying seven kills each. Costa also posted four blocks. Athena Ardila and Brigitte Burcescu each recorded six kills in the match.

Gabrielle Eyl, Clare Lund and Sherrie Wang were both solid from the back row, with 19, seven and five digs, respectively. From behind the line, Tschannen recorded four aces on the night, while Eyl posted two.

Set One Recap:

• The Huskies jumped out to an early 7-4 lead
• A 5-0 run gives the Huskies a 12-6 lead
• A Burcescu-Costa block secured the set and match win 

Up Next For Northeastern:
The Huskies will take on Towson on October 29 at 1 p.m. at the Cabot Center. Prior to the match, Northeastern will honor its seniors.
