Michael S. Dvorchak has been elected to the Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in the sports of basketball and baseball.

Dvorchak won three letters each in basketball and baseball as a high-scoring guard and first baseman. He culminated an outstanding athletic career at Northeastern in 1959-60 when he was voted to the Greater Boston League All Star team in both basketball and baseball, a rare achievement. Although his overwhelming individual skills were obvious throughout his career on the diamond and on the hardwood, Dvorchak was the consummate team player. With the two sports combined, Dvorchak and his mates, were on the winning side 120 times against just 29 defeats. In 1960, his senior year, Dvorchak was cited by the student newspaper as the University's Athlete of the Year, an honor that remains one of his most cherished.

He established himself at Northeastern as a prototype guard in basketball and a complete player at his first base position. He crowned a great career in 1959-60 when he averaged 17 points per game and batted .314 for the baseball team. He captained both sports that year, and graduated as Northeastern's third all-time leading scorer in basketball.

After graduation, Dvorchak continued to serve Northeastern as Director of the Suburban Campus in Burlington and the Assistant Dean of Adult Education. And after attaining his masters degree in 1962, he served as an Assistant Professor of Art History from 1963 to 1970.
