Michelle White was elected to the Hall of Fame for excellence in the sport of swimming and diving.

White became the first athlete of her sport to be inducted into the Hall of Fame since it was granted varsity status in 1978. A diver of extraordinary talent, White rewrote the Northeastern and New England record books. Her freshman year at NU she promptly made the diving record book her own, winning the one and three meter at New England Championships while breaking both records. As a sophomore she repeated her performance at the New Englands and earned New England Diver of the Year honors. In her junior year, White took the New England one meter title for the third year in a row and won both the one and three meter events at the ECAC Championships. Again she was named Diver of the Year. In her final season, White finally made the big breakthrough at the NCAA's. White was one of three divers from her region to advance to the nationals at Indianapolis where she placed in the top half. That season she also received the Batterman Award for the senior diver in New England who accumulated the most points over four years. In addition to leading NU to two ECAC Championships , she was a Dean's List student as a Medical Technology major.

White, a resident of Boston, recently finished school as a medical technologist at Massachusetts General Hospital. Still active athletically, last year she ran the Boston Marathon for the fourth time.
